Adam Edkin & Chase Dietz Enjoy Victory Lane
Pennsylvania Speedweek made its return to BAPS Motor Speedway on Sunday night with an exciting program featuring the powerful 410 sprint cars and the always competitive Super Sportsman division. Fans packed the grandstands for one of the biggest nights of the season as the energy around the speedway continued to build throughout the afternoon and into race time.
The excitement started early in the evening with a live performance from Andy Ross, sponsored by American Rebel Light. The courtyard was filled with race fans enjoying live music, free giveaways, and an electric atmosphere before the engines fired for Pennsylvania Speedweek competition. The concert added another layer of entertainment and helped create a true event atmosphere at the speedway.
When it came time for racing action, 37 talented 410 sprint cars signed into the pit area, showcasing some of the top drivers in Central Pennsylvania. Heat races were intense all night long as drivers battled for position and prepared for one of the toughest feature events of the season. Fans were treated to slide jobs, close racing, and multiple grooves around the speedway.
In feature action, Chase Dietz powered his way from the sixth starting position to score another impressive Pennsylvania Speedweek victory. Dietz worked his way through traffic and made all the right moves in the closing laps to secure the win. James McFadden crossed the line in second while Ryan Smith rounded out the podium in third.
The Super Sportsman division also put on a great show with 18 cars checking into competition. Drivers raced side-by-side throughout the feature event as several veterans and young drivers battled for position in front of an enthusiastic crowd. The division continues to provide some of the most exciting racing every time they hit the track.
At the end of the night, it was fourth-starting Adam Edkin capturing his first career Super Sportsman victory in emotional fashion over Tony Jackson. Kenny Edkin charged forward from his seventh starting position to finish third and complete a memorable night for the Edkin family at BAPS Motor Speedway.
