DIETZ DOMINATES KEVIN GOBRECHT MEMORIAL AS LINCOLN SPEEDWAY BEATS THE WEATHER FOR PA SPEEDWEEK NIGHT #2

ABBOTTSTOWN, PA (June 27, 2026) — Despite an unfavorable weather forecast, Lincoln Speedway officials were able to complete the entire program on Saturday night as fans were treated to Night #2 of Pennsylvania Speedweek and the annual Kevin Gobrecht Memorial. Those in attendance witnessed another outstanding 30-lap battle, with Chase Dietz pocketing the $10,000 winner's payday.
Dietz and Brady Bacon brought the field to green, with Dietz wasting little time taking command while veteran Lance Dewease slipped underneath Bacon to grab second on the opening lap.
As Dietz quickly built an advantage, Anthony Macri began working his way forward. Macri climbed to third after Bacon lost momentum exiting turn two, allowing James McFadden to also sneak by for fourth.
Out front, Dietz was in complete control early, stretching his advantage to nearly three seconds by lap five before reaching slower traffic just four laps later with a commanding 3.7-second lead.
Macri eventually worked his way around Dewease for second and immediately began reeling in Dietz while McFadden settled into third. Meanwhile, Cameron Smith continued his impressive run, cracking the top five before eventually moving into fourth.
By the halfway point, Macri had trimmed Dietz's once-comfortable lead down to just over two seconds, and as the laps wound down, the gap continued to shrink. With eight laps remaining, Macri had closed to within .68 seconds as both drivers searched for speed around the cushion while negotiating lapped traffic.
Dietz answered the challenge over the closing laps, gradually rebuilding his advantage to more than one second before a late caution with three laps remaining erased his lead and set up a dramatic three lap shoot-out to the finish.
On the restart, Dietz executed flawlessly, pulling away from Macri over the final three laps to secure the Kevin Gobrecht Memorial victory and his first Pennsylvania Speedweek win of 2026.
Behind the leaders, Dewease and Smith exchanged fourth place by mere inches on the restart before Smith reclaimed the position. Dewease then had to fend off repeated challenges from Bacon over the final laps to secure a top-five finish.
Dietz crossed the finish line ahead of Macri, McFadden, Smith and Dewease.
Lincoln Speedway is back in action on Monday, June 29 with the final Steve Smith Tribute Race presented by Schmuck Lumber featuring the 410 Sprints in Night #4 of Pennsylvania Speedweek. Racing is scheduled for 7:30PM with pit gates opening at 5PM and grandstand gates opening at 5:30PM.
